Gundu!

I'm now 50kg! Now that I got your attention, do keep on reading. Haa..ha.. that is the truth my dear friends. 50 + 45 more = 95!!!! That is not fat. that's obese!

Let me tell you something, when I was in my teens and in uni, I was never a thin girl. But the heaviest I would go is 80kg. But I know my friends do accept me for what I am. It didn't really bother me at that time.

In 1998, I got engaged and I was at the peak of my weight, 80kg. It was not a very nice ceremony as I was "rendang" at that time. But deep in my heart I determined to shed some kilos before my wedding in 1999. So I had less than a year to do that. I wanted to be a beautiful bride.

Believe me, it was a painful painful process. But the determination was there and I didn't want to be a joke on my wedding day. Rizal is big but I didn't care coz I love him and it's ok coz he's a man(?!)

Diet? Makan sikit? I've tried all!

What I did was I exercise using skipping rope and cut down on my meal and it worked! On my wedding day, my weight was 56kg! This is a true story as you can see my picture above. Ohh... what a glory glory day it was!

But then, I got pregnant and as time passed by I let myself go......... I started to eat things I love to eat and there's no point or reason for me to lose weight. This was the biggest mistake ever. After giving birth to Adia, I didn't take cake of me. I let myself drifted away.......

This year marks the 10th year of my anniversary and also marks my 95kg! huaaa....

So my dear friends, the moral of the story is do not let youself go, I know we have families to take care but we ( I! ) need to put me first starting right now!

I will not aim for 50 or 55. I'm going for 65-70. Possible? Only time will tell. One thing for sure, I'm going to endure the same process again. Mak tolong!!!!

Do you remember the time?

Do you remember the time when we sang our heart out lagu Sampai Hati at block seven of PPP ? And I actually cried when my block 14 fell for Kak Na ( Tesl 4)? And I thought that was the end of the world where I would never get married and have kids!! Just wanted to marry that block 14 guy.

And I still have your small note hidden inside my thick dictionary asking me to buy Eagles' "Hell Freezes Over", and when I asked for money you would say, ala pakai duit hang dulu! He..he.. I bought it at Subang Parade.

Do you remember when 4 of us went to Subang Parade and watched " The Joyluck Club". I believed that was the best movie ever made. We really really really cried over the movie surrounded by apek2 and nyonyas yg actually understood the plot.

Do you still remember the Yoko Yoko incident? I swore I would never do that again!

Do you remember, every Saturday we would wake up late, put on our windbreakers ( and yours would be a checkered shirt) and had our stroll to Giants to buy the most delicious nasi lemak for our brunch?

You would be the one who prepared my opening speech for our talent night. Can't remember the whole speech but it ended with Sit back and enjoy the show.Ija was one of the actors who played a policewoman but she ended up wearing baju Pak Guard as her costume! Do you remember how we used to love talent nights, and fell for those who played acoustic guitars singing Eric Clapton's Wonderful Tonight. ( Was it Aran?)

And do you still remember studying in 415 and 215 while listening to Pilihan Bersama and our choices of songs would be like what else Sampai Hati, Di Sana Menanti Di Sini Menunggu, Would I lie to You, Dying Inside to Hold You, Sacrifice, Heaven Knows etc etc etc...

Those were the days when we didn't have to think about bills to pay, headcounts, panitia, and so on. I do miss those days but those make us learn more and be more mature and make us who we are, kan?

Huh?

Adia came back from school yesterday and told me something that I really hate to hear. She told me that there was this prefect, she hit Adia and Balkis on the shoulder andthen shouted " Sakit dak, gemuk?" Aiyo, that really pissed me off! I'm a teacher and I know the rules and regulations of being a prefect. You can't simply hit people suka2. So, I called up my friend who happens to be a teacher there and told her everything.

So, today she came home and told me that her PK HEM went to her class to investigate the case. She asked Adia what really happened and promised to take actions. And before she went out, she said " Balik bagitau kt mak,na". Bagitau kat mak? Takut kena saman ka? I won't do that of course but children can be cruel sometimes. A slap on a wrist won't hurt a child kan?

I'm not protecting my daughter, kalau salah memang salah. But she did not do anything wrong at that time and so did her friend.

So, we will see whether actions will be taken or not.

Kulim-Alor Setar-Sungai Petani-Parit Buntar-Kulim

For CNY we got 5 days off and Adia got 9 days. So as usual we have to go back to 2 kampongs, Alor Setar and Parit Buntar. First, we headed back to A.Setar on Friday night right after maghrib and reached there around 9 p.m. These are my (and Rizal's) routines if we go back to A.Setar:
1. Early morning - buy breakfast for mak and pak. My mom only takes kuih apam in the morning but my pak eats nasi lemak, mind u, dia ordered anything but nasi lemak in front of the school. We had to go to Kepala Batas to buy them. Don't mind at all. This is an opportunity for us to spend time together
2. Afternoon -Around 11.00 a.m buy lunch for them. See, my sis, she doesn't really cook when people are around.

3. Evening - Around 5.30p.m, out we go to buy them dinner and supper for my dad. And look what I bought..

This is called "peknga"
After 2 days spending time with them, off we went to Park Avenue, Sungai Petani for some R&R. We often do this as we only pay a small amount of money for the room. Last year we paid RM117 but this year the rate has increased to RM130 but still affordable.

Adia at the lobby with some merry CNY decorations. Eric Chia died here, it was his hotel what, but thankfully, nothing happened.he..he..

Tol Juru, packed with cars.

It took us quite a while to reach Parit Buntar as there were many cars on the road. Even here in Nibong Tebal, cars were moving in snail pace

Alhamdullillah, We reached P. Buntar safe and sound. Here's a picture of Adia and her cousins.

Routines in P. Buntar?
Here goes, My mom-in-law would cook for us, mind you, I just assist here and there. She's a good cook. We eat, we chat till wee hours. It would be merrier if everybody's there, from the first to the youngest. Chat and drink free flow of tea, Topics? anything under the sun. And sometimes they talked about the same old topics but I just played along as if the news was still new to me. Actually I've already heard about it for like 10th to 15th times!
In the evening we went to Bagan Serai to buy some shirts for Rizal. He's a big size man and it's kinda difficult to get a nice and decent Ts. It's either in Prangin Mall in Penang or Padang Besar in Perlis. Fortunately we found 1 place where they sell big sized Ts in Bagan Serai. We purchased some Ts and a shirt.
After lunch today, we headed back to Kulim. I'm glad we still have parents and I promise I will try to visit them often :)

Handbags

Hubby bought this D&G

This is the latest - my Elle handbag

Tali sudah putus and the clasp too - Cap Ayam

Giossardi - Bought in SOGO

My favourite - Sacha

I'm not an avid fan of handbags. For the past few years I had been using the same old Sacha handbag that my sis bought in KL. My hubby bought one in Germany during his trip last March, a Dolce & Gabbana. But I don't use it all the time as it is only for special occasion like pi makan kenduri. My Sacha was a very comfortable handbag to carry around. One thing for sure, I love oversized handbags as I love to throw everything inside it. From my purse to my buku mesyuarat. Not to forget receipts, tons and tons of them!

When I went to KL last December, I bought a new handbag. It was nice and kinda cheap. RM143 to be exact. Bought it in SOGO. Ok la, but not as comfortable as my old Sacha. Mula la tak mau bawak but too scared to admit, takut my hubby bising.

School reopened and I used that new bag despite the not-so-comfortable situation. Then, a friend of mine offered me this new handbag for only RM50. No brand, cap Ayam kot but it is oversized and sooo comfortable to carry. Penting nih! She bought it at the night market in Batu Feringghi. So far so good and I fell for it and paid her RM50.

Yesterday, we went to Sunway Carnival for our dinner and guess what happened? Memang Cap Ayam betul! The clasp of the handbag was broken and I just paid for it two weeks ago! Ruginya...

So, after much deliberation with my banker, he gave his consent and I got myself a new Elle handbag. It was a good bargain too. With 50% discount I only paid RM136.00.

So for the past 2 months I actually paid RM329 for three handbags! Opsss.... ;)
